Prior to having the COVID vaccine I was a healthy 24-year-old female, very active, exercising five or six days a week, walking, jogging, all with no issues.

I received my first vaccination on March 19th, 2021. Afterwards I only felt tired and had a sore arm. Then I got my second on August 9th, 2021 and that’s when everything changed. I felt extremely sick for four days after the vaccination and had a high fever, chills, confusion, difficulty walking, dizzy, nauseous, headaches, blurry vision, and ringing in my ears. I felt a brain fog for the entire week and I felt “slower” and had more difficulty doing even simple tasks.

August 16th (1 week later): I was becoming more exhausted each day and it was only getting worse. I felt these non-stop heart palpitations through the day, like my heart was working extra hard to pump. Doing any exercise was becoming hard for me even though I was an avid gym goer prior. I told my doctor of these symptoms, and it was dismissed as anxiety and they said I would be fine.

October 15th: I began experiencing stabbing, explosive, and sometimes throbbing chest pains on my left side. This was occurring multiple times a day. It caused loss of breath, dizziness, and I was seeing stars and needing to sit down. I knew this was NOT normal. Symptoms continued and throughout November it was still getting worse, but I was afraid to go back to my doctor in case I was dismissed with “anxiety” again. So I tried to wait it out longer.

December 27th: I made a phone consultation with a doctor but was told to come back on January 24th for the first available “in-person” appointment. THEN, on Sunday January 16th I woke up from my sleep feeling as though I was having a HEART ATTACK. I could not catch my breath, my chest was pounding, I had explosive pain, my face and arms were numb, I could barely walk, and I was dizzy and passing out. I managed to call an ambulance, and my heart rate was fluctuating around 195 bpm on their monitor. My body started convulsing uncontrollably and I could barely speak. The ambulance ECG test showed there were “no signs of heart attack”. Then hospital ECG results were still showing up as normal, so the doctor sent me home right away with no further instructions or comments. I was still so disoriented and in terrible pain, that I could barely walk out of the emergency room.

The next three nights the terrible chest pains continued and I ended up back in the hospital, but no further tests were done.

January 24th: I had my in-person clinic visit, and the doctor dismissed the chest pains as anxiety or stress, as he said those are the most common factors for chest pains in women my age. I had to beg for a test to be done as they were going to send me home again with nothing.

Finally, on February 4th I have a cardiology appointment and I will update with results.
